At the Sfarandola workshop we labour, we plot, we draw with diligence.
For the present, our windows display only artistic prints — posters of fine make, wall effigies, illustrations to be framed and contemplated with due gravity. Nevertheless, our craftsmen, bent over inks and looms, are preparing in utmost secrecy a collection of garments worthy of the most cunning of gentlemen, cups for the morning breakfast, notebooks wherein to place one’s least confessable thoughts, illustrated volumes to be concealed beneath the pillow, games of patience for rainy Sundays, postcards for gallant correspondences, and likewise sundry objects in which our illustrations shall take body, weight, and sometimes even usefulness.
We pray you, then, to return when the moon shall be full, or whensoever your humour shall suggest it: the catalogue shall grow richer, from week to week, with ever-new marvels.

Nella Bottega Sfarandola si fatica, si trama, si disegna alacremente.
Pel momento le nostre vetrine accolgono le sole stampe artistiche — poster d’alta fattura, effigi da parete, illustrazioni da incorniciarsi e contemplarsi con la debita gravità. Nondimeno, i nostri artigiani, chini sopra inchiostri e telai, vanno preparando in somma segretezza una collezione di vestimenti degna del più smaliziato dei gentiluomini, tazze per la colazione mattutina, taccuini ove riporre i pensieri meno confessabili, volumi illustrati da celarsi sotto il guanciale, giochi di pazienza per le piovose domeniche, cartoline per galanti corrispondenze, ed altresì svariati oggetti ne’ quali le nostre illustrazioni prenderanno corpo, peso, e talvolta persino utilità.
Vi preghiamo dunque di farci ritorno quando la luna sarà tonda, o allorquando il vostro umore ve lo suggerirà: il catalogo andrà arricchendosi, di settimana in settimana, di meraviglie sempre nuove.
